Year Three Blog

The glittery world of Mrs. Shotton, Mrs. Dawson and Y3

Happy Holidays!

This is a little belated but…

Thank you everyone for the lovely presents and cards you gave to me and Mrs Dawson at the end of term – we were really overwhelmed! You were a lovely Y3 and we will really miss you.

I hope everyone is having a lovely holiday, please post your comments to let me know what exciting things you have been doing!

The holiday is passing so quickly, and we will see you again soon, don’t forget to call in and see us when you are all grown up in Y4!

If anyone in the new Y3 reads this post, I hope you are having a lovely holiday too and I look forward to seeing you in September, all shiny and new up in the juniors!

Have fun, be good and be careful!

Check them out…

I know you always look at the blog, boys and girls, but maybe not every class, so please look at:
Y4 – where you will find the route for our walk

Y1 – where you will find the Wally Cain dance photos

And… I bet you’ll find other interesting things if you look at all the other blogs, and you’ll learn about what other classes are up to!

Hopefully we’ll get some pictures of you on soon, my camera is being a bit naughty but once it’s sorted out I’ll take some costume pictures, and who knows maybe even a few puppet shows might appear!

AND…

Well done to all the juniors for a great first performance – let’s hope we get 2 more brilliant shows!!!

Extra song words…

Great singing from Y3 and Y4 today!

Here are those bits to add to your song words, and don’t forget in the Merry Old Land of Oz we have changed a bit – ask us tomorrow and we’ll make sure your words are right so bring them in!

The first bit of Over the Rainbow…

When all the world is a hopeless jumble
And the raindrops tumble to the ground
Heaven opens a magic lane
When all the clouds darken up the skyway
There’s a rainbow highway to be found
Leading from your window pane
To a place behind the sun
Just a step beyond the rain

The first bit of Ding Dong the Witch is Dead…

The house began to pitch. The kitchen took a slitch.
It landed on the Wicked Witch in the middle of a ditch,
Which was not a healthy situation for the Wicked Witch.
*The house began to pitch. The kitchen took a slitch.
It landed on the Wicked Witch in the middle of a ditch,
Which was not a healthy situation for the Wicked Witch.
… Who began to twitch, and was reduced, to just a stitch,  of what was once the Wicked Witch.

Wizard of Oz Costumes

Hi all, hope you’re having a lovely holiday!

Here’s a little job to get thinking about – the list of costumes needed for our play in July. These don’t need to be in for a few weeks yet, but while you’re out and about you might want to get started!

If you have any questions, leave a comment or email me.

Please remind anyone you bump into who isn’t sure to have a look on here, too!

Y3 and Y4 Parts and Costumes

Everyone will need to wear school pumps on their feet!

Summerhill Orienteering

Well done, everyone, you were amazing on Friday! You followed all those complicated instructions and maps, and had a good go at finding all the check points. Of course, your behaviour was very good as always.

We will find out soon if any of our teams won the competition, but we’ll be looking at the slips on Monday to see who got the most correct check points in our class.

We had a brilliant afternoon out, thank you to Miss Sinnott for organising it from our end, and to Mr McEvoy who co-ordinated the event from Deyes High School. And of course, Summerhill were great to let us use their field!

HOORAY!!

Our tests in Y3 are over.

Well done everyone, you did your best and I’m sure that Bernie Buttons and Judy Jones will be really impressed with your work!

We will have a little relax tomorrow after the stresses of the week so bring in your ‘U’ DVDs (name on please) and we’ll have a nice day chilling out, extending our Golden Time a bit. (With maybe a little bit of work with Freddy of course!)

It has been a mixed bag of tests and you liked some better than others, but you really did behave fantastically well, kept quiet for the other classes and did yourselves proud!

Guess what… No homework this weekend – have a nice time!
