Goodbye Y3 - Hello Y3!

It’s that happy and sad time of year again… Happy that we’re still on holiday, happy to be looking forward to a new class. But… sad to be nearly at the end of the summer and to be saying goodbye to all the old faces of last year.

***As well as a big thank you for being such a lovely class, Mrs. Dawson and I would like to say a MASSIVE, HUGE, ENORMOUS thank you to all of our children and parents of last year for the lovely presents, cards and good wishes we received at the end of our year together.***

Mrs. Dawson and I will really miss our ‘old’ Y3, it has been a fantastic year. Hopefully you will come and visit us lots next year, and you will definitely have a great time with Mrs. Brooks. (If you ask her nicely she’ll show you some photos of her wedding - it was a gorgeous day!)

And to our new Y3… I am certainly looking forward to seeing you all again in September, we had some fun last year on the few occasions when Mrs. Brankin and Mrs. Reed let me come in and teach you, so I’m sure we will have a great year together. Don’t forget to get your games kits and PE kits sorted out!

Happy end of holidays, everyone!

Love Miss H xxx

Superstar!

Oh no… Lucy McLean, you were our Superstar last week and have been dutifully looking after the monkey and trophy… and I forgot to put your name on the website! It just goes to show how ‘kind and sweet’ you are that you haven’t nagged me about it!

Sorry, Lucy, and well done.

Update

Well done to Callum, who is this week’s superstar! Once again some thoughtful nominations. Great to see you wearing your badge with pride this week, Callum!

News reports have been fabulous - a lot of the children have brought items in, and those that have researched and remembered what they wanted to say have done very well, too. What a variety of news - from Lydiate to the North Pole. I hope you have all enjoyed your research, and we will listen to the rest of those reports by the end of this week.

Superstar

We’re a little bit behind with our Superstars at the moment! Last week we had a 3 way tie between Eve, Hannah and Chloe so we decided to pull a name out of a hat. Well done to Chloe who was the lucky winner! 3 great nominees though, and I hope that Eve and Hannah get to be Superstar really soon. We’ll choose another Superstar on Monday, then it’s back to Fridays.

Well done to all of our fabulous speakers in church! Niamh, Olivia, Fay and Tom all spoke up really well.
A second well done to Tom, who is also this week’s Superstar!
Have a happy Easter, everyone, see you in a couple of weeks!

News from home!

How lovely to see a comment from the class today, thank you all!
Well done, Eleanor, what a great superstar!
I’m glad you’re all having such fun and working hard, but I’m glad you miss me a bit too!!
I didn’t eat all my kebab, Luke, and Nathan I promise I won’t speak too much Spanish. In San Ildefonso all the children speak English so I don’t get much chance to practise!
I’m still very busy but it is great to have Miss Newham, Mr Hewer and of course Pablo here! We have met lots of wonderful people at San Ildefonso and the parents of our visiting children were delighted to meet us and look at all the photos of our school. They were very impressed with our school grounds and environment, very different to their own.
See you all very soon, keep up the hard work!

San Ildefonso

p2180509.JPGp2180525.JPGp2180506.JPGp2180522.JPGHola todos! Today was my first visit to San Ildefonso. The school is lovely and everyone was very welcoming. The staff and children have two hours for lunch and work from 9am until 4pm. I tried to speak a little bit of Spanish, but the children enjoyed practising their English on me! I was very impressed. (I don’t think they were quite as impressed with my Spanish!)
Here are some photos of my day. The children who visited us last year say hello, and Pablo asked me to photograph his french map of cheese to show you. (Please tell Alex Fry to look, it was particularly for him!)
More tomorrow!
