Great websites for Y3.

Kelton asked me to let him know the addresses of a couple of sites we have looked at this week in Y3.  So here they are:

For fabulous games and printable worksheets (including eggs on legs!) to practise multiplication, and  for testing yourself (and your family) on their tables to see who can be the first up the mountain, we have www.teachingtables.co.uk A similar site offering games in other areas of maths is www.primarygames.co.uk At www.teachingtime.co.uk you can practise telling the time and, again, there are worksheets to print off for practising.  These sites are connected, and there are links when you get there to other sites for teaching measures, money, and other areas of maths.

www.bbc.co.uk/schools is a great link, and we have accessed 4-11 History and Science so far, the children have really enjoyed experimenting with science clips.

If you know of any great sites please let me know and I’ll add them!

I wish I could fly…

Thank you everybody for your votes of confidence - maybe if I wish hard enough I will be able to fly as well as Tinkerbell!

Superstars

Well done to our two most recent superstars - James and Kelton.  Don’t forget to check the achievements page for photos!  We are getting some lovely reasons for the superstar nominations - we are very lucky to have such kind and helpful people in our class.

An update…

Superstars -

Well done again to Tom and Cameron, who were once again Y3 Superstars last term.  Bethan also achieved this award - very well done, 3 deserving winners!  The children made some really thoughful nominations.  Photos of our winners can be seen in the Celebrating Achievement page of this site.

Peter Pan-

Unfortunately I wasn’t able to go along to the theatre, but Mrs. Brankin was delighted to take Y3 on my behalf, and she tells me that the children had a fabulous time and were really well behaved (as always!).  Thank you Mrs. Brankin! Mr. Rafferty has yet to recover from the discovery that Tinkerbell wasn’t really flying…

Swimming lessons -

Wow, the teacher at Deyes High was very impressed with the level of ability of the class!  We all enjoyed the first lesson, and I look forward to working with my group next week.  A few children are going to practise putting on socks… and not dropping them in puddles!!

Class assembly -

Don’t forget to put this one in your diaries -  on Wednesday 7th March at 2.30pm we will be showing parents exactly what we get up to in Y3… The children are busy planning what they want to do, it’s going to be hard to choose what to include!

Happy New Year!

Happy new year to Y3 and all of your families!

Firstly, thank you so much from myself and Mrs. Dawson for all the lovely gifts and cards - you are are all very kind.  We both had a lovely Christmas and hope you did too!

Secondly, my apologies for the lack of ‘blogging’ recently - computer trouble!  However, our most recent Superstars will soon be appearing on the site along with any other news.

Finally - swimming at Deyes Lane - what a fabulous opportunity for Y3, who will be starting their lessons on Tuesday for a whole term.  We can’t wait!

Happy New Year again - let’s hope for an exciting and hard working year!
