More Y3 achievements!

Congratulations to this week’s Superstar, Nicole. Your friendly attitude has been recognised and rewarded by your class! Well done.

James was our latest winner of a ‘ten bone’ certificate on Tuesday - 100 well earned team points! James was able to take his certificate to be signed by our visitors attending our Healthy Schools meeting, where I believe he was an excellent representative of the School’s Council.

10 Bones…

Last week Cameron and Jessica were the first children to receive their 10 bone certificates. In order to win a ‘bone’ to feed their team’s dog, the children must earn 10 team points. So that’s 100 team points each for these two children! Very well done, you two. The other teachers have written some lovely comments on the back - you should be very proud of yourselves.

Author Pesentations

Billy found out about Roald Dahl. Grace thinks that Billy’s presentation was interesting and one fact was that Roald Dahl went to boarding school and used to pretend that he was sick so he could see his family.

Grace did Dick King Smith. Charlie says she was clear. He was a farmer who looked after 16 animals and he was very clever.

Elle Grosz also found out about Roald Dahl. Ellie thinks that Elle spoke clearly and thinks it was a brilliant presentation. Roald Dahl was good at games.

Nicole also told us about Roald Dahl. Amy thinks her presentation was very good and clear. Nicole found out that his second book was James and the Giant Peach.

Alex Hall did Beatrix Potter. She was born in 1946. Beth thinks Alex had a loud clear voice and she thought it was fantastic!

Once again - brilliant presentations from all… Just a few to go now, can’t wait to hear them. What a great standard.

Author Presentations

More details to follow next week - I’m so sorry that we didn’t get all of our presentations done last week, but we will catch up with ourselves soon!
I’m so pleased to see the positive comments in our weblog- the children have really enjoyed learning about different authors and doing their presentations. They also listen really well to others. I have certainly found out a huge amount from listening to the interesting facts they have uncovered!
It’s lovely to see the children using the internet so well for their research, but I’m really glad to see lots of library books in the presentation pile, too!

Superstar

Mrs. Ottley was delighted to read out Amy’s name as this week’s superstar. A very deserving choice, Amy is often nominated and this week she had the most nominations from the other children.
Well done, Amy!

PS: Alex, where are you hiding your trophy stash?? Thank you again for our latest replacement!!
PPS: The new envelope is great - love the mosaic effect!

Y3 Assembly

I was so proud of you all on Wednesday, Y3 - your assembly was fabulous and you all spoke, sang, acted and played really well! Your parents must be delighted with you, too. Thank you to all of your families, who did a great job with costumes and practising lines!

The children really did think of all those ideas themselves, with just a little help with wording and deciding on the order of events! They improvised really well on the day, too - no performance or practise was ever quite the same… Well done!

Enjoy a nice rest this weekend… Miss Hartley x
