Superstar
Congratulations, Bradley! Very well done this week, you are our latest Superstar!
How lovely to see a comment from the class today, thank you all!
Well done, Eleanor, what a great superstar!
I’m glad you’re all having such fun and working hard, but I’m glad you miss me a bit too!!
I didn’t eat all my kebab, Luke, and Nathan I promise I won’t speak too much Spanish. In San Ildefonso all the children speak English so I don’t get much chance to practise!
I’m still very busy but it is great to have Miss Newham, Mr Hewer and of course Pablo here! We have met lots of wonderful people at San Ildefonso and the parents of our visiting children were delighted to meet us and look at all the photos of our school. They were very impressed with our school grounds and environment, very different to their own.
See you all very soon, keep up the hard work!

Hola todos! Today was my first visit to San Ildefonso. The school is lovely and everyone was very welcoming. The staff and children have two hours for lunch and work from 9am until 4pm. I tried to speak a little bit of Spanish, but the children enjoyed practising their English on me! I was very impressed. (I don’t think they were quite as impressed with my Spanish!)
Here are some photos of my day. The children who visited us last year say hello, and Pablo asked me to photograph his french map of cheese to show you. (Please tell Alex Fry to look, it was particularly for him!)
More tomorrow!
Hello everyone, I’m back in Madrid after a lovely weekend in Alcala de Haneres, the birthplace of a very famous Spanish author called Cervantes. Tomorrow I will be meeting a teacher from San Ildefonso who will take me to the school for my first day.
We have seen some beautiful places, in Alcala there were lots of storks nesting in the tops of trees and buildings!
I believe everyone in Y3 is being very good for Miss Coleman (I have my spies…!) but I also believe that I am in big trouble because I forgot poor Pablo. However, I think that may just be Mr. Rafferty’s fault for not letting me know he was available for the trip…
Anyway here are a few photos, of Madrid, Alcala and our dinners… xx
My spanish is improving very slowly!!
These are photos of my lessons to show you that we are working very hard - even the bear from St. John´s School in Waterloo!
It is very difficult, and we are learning lots of grammar and verbs, but I can now ask for a tuna sandwich and stamps for England!
Enjoy your first day back at school, I will try and post some nice photos of Madrid soon.
Maria and Emelia from San Ildefonso send their love!
Miss H xx
¡Hola, buenos tardes!
I am sitting in my spanish hotel lobby waiting to meet with Maria from San Ildefonso.
Today has been quite stressful - we had spanish lessons for 4 hours. I now realise how little spanish I know!
Never mind, I hope that will improve soon.
Madrid is very beautiful and I am having a lovely time, I am looking forward to going into San Ildefonso next week with Miss Newham and Mr Hewer!
Have fun everybody, hasta luego.
I will try to put some photos on the website soon!

Congratulations to Alex and Liam, our latest superstars. Miss Coleman read out some lovely nominations for both of you, you should be very proud indeed!
It has been a long time since I last wrote on the blog, what a busy time it has been!
Well done to Anna, first of all, who has been nominated Superstar for this week, she has been considerate when playing games.
Welcome to Liam, our newest member of Y3, you have settled in well and the children are showing you how everything works!
Miss Coleman is enjoying her time with Y3, and has done some lovely work with the class.
We have bought new games for Golden Time and are continuing to find new and wonderful things to do… Watch this space!
Firstly - a huge THANK YOU from Mrs. Dawson and me for our lovely presents and cards, you are all very kind!
I’m glad to hear about all the wonderful times you had at Christmas, even though there were a few poorly people. I hope everyone is soon feeling back to normal!
Congratulations to Luke, who took home a special certificate as he was this year’s Y3 Christmas superstar! A very deserving winner for a real gentleman of the class.
We have an exciting new year ahead, with our swimming lessons beginning on Tuesday and Miss Coleman arriving on Monday to start working with our class for a few weeks.
I hope we have a great year together!

Congratulations Sam, this week’s superstar. He has received a lot of nominations over the last term, and this week was nominated by 5 different people! Sam is polite and kind to other children, so well done.
Golden Time was great fun again with some fabulous donated lego to play with, whiteboard and board games and the famous Twister… Keep up the hard work, boys and girls, maybe this week we can be as lucky as Y5 and have no-one who misses any time!
